Converting regular Google Maps (My Maps) into Google Maps API

I don't have a working knowledge of Google Maps API yet, but I know
exactly the info I want to put on my site.

Is it possible to make my maps in Google Maps and then somehow convert
them to API files to take advantage of all the extra features at a
later date?

Custom Icons - can't click on them

Hi,

Using Mike's tutorials I've been able to get everything done I wanted,
but one last hurdle.

When I add in custom icons, I cannot click on the icons to make the
info window show up. They do show up when I click on the links below
the map I have created.

Map markers not showing in firefox 3

Hello,

The map displays the markers with Firefox 2, but not with Firefox 3
running a on a Mac (no error messages). I believe it displays fine on
Firefox 3 running with windows, but will double check later this
evening. I've searched for similar issues but have been unable to find
an answer.
Printing issues with IE6?

I have a custom map- size 1200x800 that prints fine in FF and IE7, but
will not print properly in IE6. The map will display polygons but not
markers when printing portrait. However, when printing landscape, I
only get a 1200x200 section of the map. Is there a known issue with
IE6?

Hi all,
I am brand new to Java and the Google API, and I need some pointers. I
have a very large (~25000 pixels on a side) image that I would like to
break into tiles for use with the API, and have it be possible to
update the tile set on the fly. I will be updating this image often
and I don't want to have to regenerate the entire tile set for each

Hi does anyone know a way to geotag photos. So say a user uploads an
image to a local server and the drops a pin in a map or adds the city
the image is then tagged to that location??

i've been searching for an answer to this and these map codes are
driving me crazy. please check out my map below. i'm not sure how i
even got the circle to work, but i need to turn it into more of a
diamond with the long points going along the coast...please help! i've
tried to read the references on google and i just get lost. i'm not a
