The What Is Special About Geospatial blog has an article and videos about using augmented reality with GIS. From their summary : "The application fields of augmented reality for spatial problems are very broad. The contain navigation, enviromental planning, etc. Object recognition is here also an issue. Currently many GI researchers are dealing with the topic of augmented maps." Not quite sure what the article is trying to relay, but I will leave that up to those interested in this topic. Head on over to their blog for more information and the video.
