Google Maps Offline via KML?

I'm having problems loading the KML/XML file as an alternative to
linking to the Google Spreadsheet. I do not have the KML file in
public URL its in a intranet, I guess that could be part of problem.

Would it be possible to make a reference to a file (KML/XML) in my
local system?

I am trying to figure out if its possible to have a Custom Map

I have my map set to zoom in to a certain boundry when you first open
it.

The problem is when you do a local search, it zooms in too much if I
have suppressZoomToBounds : true. I want it to zoom in when you do a
search, but not near as much as it does otherwise.

Google states in their terms of use that they don't want their maps to
give the locations of private individuals, but I'm curious what
exactly this means. I know the rule sounds a bit straight forward, but
if I put a marker on a map stating that an individual is somewhere in
the United States would that really be violating their Terms of Use

When I use my map application outside of facebook everything works
just fine. When I put it inside facebook as an iframe app polylines
stop getting events. If I have a rightclick event on the map it will
work everywhere except for when I click on a polyline then the pixel
passed to the event handler is NaN,NaN and the overlay is not a

I want to have the local search icon match what is used for the floral
retailers already listed on the map, but in another color. I'm not
exactly sure about how to go about this. I've looked it up but anyone
that has asked similar questions didn't have any responses.

Editing Markers from a Database

I've used the tutorial "From Info Windows to a Database: Saving User-
Added Form Data" to collect user data into my database... but now is
there a way to spit it back out to the map when we need to edit the
markers lat/lng or for that matter any of the user submitted data that
is in the database?

Using MapIconMaker.createLabeledMark erIcon(), the basic use works well
for me - thanks to Pamela.

But I want to use a few outside a map div, as a legend array of

Hi,

I am creating a map. where I am displaying lots of polygons and each
polygon has different set of details.
Everything works fine.
Except when I Resize IE window to 90% or less. The size of the window
decreases but the size of the polygons remains same. So when I take my
mouse over a polygon. It displays the data of the polygon above it.

When I find multiple points at the same location in Google Earth and
click on them, they split apart so that I can choose which I'd like to
see. On Google maps it simply selects the top record.

Is there a way to replicate the Google Earth effect in Google maps?

Its a loader control kind of thing. You init it, it loads you say how much
has been loaded and it displays a little bar as to how far done it is.

loading Static Maps image into flash (not working!!)

i've been working on something in Flash that allows you to enter an
address, and then request the static map from Google and display it in
a box.

it was working absolutely fine when running locally on my computer,
but as soon as I upload it to a server and try it, I get all these
checkPolicyFile issues and security sandbox errors..

I've got a problem using Gmaps and i hope someone will be able to help
me.
You know i need to get Lat and Lng of the center of the map every time
i drag the map but not as GetCenter. I need to catch Lat in one
variable and Lng in the other. Can anyone help me plz?:)

Option 1: just an animated gif which starts when the page is loaded

Hi everyone,

Couldn't find any mention of it but is it a known bug that setting
width: 100%, height 100%; doesn't work on div's containing street
views?

In firefox, I get a streetview as wide as the initial window but only

Hi All,
General question. Given a KML of polygons (dynamically generated, so
Bratliff's very cool striping solution won't work), loaded with geoXml
(shoutout to Lance for the wonderful library), is there any way to tell that
a given coordinate is not within any of the polygons? The opposite...
determining if it is within any polygons (and which polygon), could be
Custom Icon Info window problem. Please help.
