First off, great work. This has been very beneficial in what I am
trying to do. At the moment, I want to create a checkbox interface
that adds (and removes) different KML overlays. I can get the adding

I have an application where I add a series of markers to a map on
load. If you click on one of those markers it will open its
infowindow. I wanted to be able to open those infowindows from a link
off to the side of the map as well, and I wasn't able to figure out a
way to fire a specific infowindow for a specific marker in this way so

I'm trying to figure out how to show a map of the US with all the
counties displayed on it. Similar to Marcello's site here:
[link]. I know I need to use tile overlays,
generating with Javascript is unreasonable. I need these so I can
generate points in the counties using the tables in my SQL database.

Hello,

my question is maybe a CSS/HTML related problem, but it has got a
strong relation to google maps api. I have problems with the sidebar
DIV element, which is placed in a table. But sometimes it gets more
lines (more markers), and there is no place to show them, that is why
I set the property "overflow" to "auto". Now, if there is more content

Hi, I haven't been able to find this tutorial but it would seem to me
that its a simple and common problem.

Does anyone have a tutorial that has a User input his/her address. The
address in geocoded into lats and longs and then PHP sends the
coordinates to a mysql database.

I can get the address generated and I can get the PHP to send data to
color markers problem

Problem 1:

I got this php function to grab values out of my database (see below)
I have a collum with colors. gray, black, red, blue. I need to grab
that out of my database but don't know how.

Is there a way to cancel the drawing of a polygon? I see the
polygon.enableDrawing(); method but I don't see anything like a
polygon.cancelDrawing(); method. This is useful in case the user
doesn't want to draw a polygon.

Store Locator Filter Issue

Im having a bit of a logic problem in trying to think out another
Store Locator implementation. Lets say I have 10 stores, and they
have a variety of different services some have, and some do not.

For instance:

The problem comes in when I want to make category filters. All of
the examples I have seen have 1 marker for 1 category. But as you

creating and returning the marker object properly. I have had it
working this way for about 2 years without issue until recently.

In my Google Earth API app I'm defaulting to Google Maps for browsers
that cannot support the plug-in. I'm also managing lat, lon, and
altitude data from other sources. In Google Maps, I would like to be
able to intercept the event that takes place when a map is set to a
zoom level for which there is no imagery. In this way, I could zoom

ok, i have searched faqs and im sure its there somewhere
but i have tried to follow the guide to set up the store locator
but when i test the xml file i only get <markers></markers>
and nothing in between
i also dont get the map showing on the html file

what am i doing wrong please???

I currently used:

thisicon = new GIcon(G_DEFAULT_ICON,'[link]
mapfiles/ms/micons/' + thiscolor + '-dot.png');

Where thiscolor is one of the valid colours for icons, however when I
crate a icon using overlay and marker

my icon ends up what looks like half the width or what it is supposed
using the code as shown in the Google code examples

I have found the perfect code to display a map the way I would like to
see it in the list of Google code examples at (control-
localsearch.html).

Is it permissible to use the code as it stands in this example on my
own web site - I realize that I have to change the API key and the co-
ordinates.

<I add two KML-layers (different themes) with GGeoXml, both filled
with polygons, no addListeners. The polygons from the first KML
overlap polygons from the other KML. The drawing-order of the polygons
is randomly, sometimes even a few
from one KML, then from the other, and then again from one.

Hi,
Am having trouble launching a lightbox from a Tabber Marker, and was
wondering if anyone had any suggestions?
If you click on the link at the bottom, this is proving that prototype is
working correctly with the shadowbox scripts. However, the same code is
failing to run correctly from the Tabbed Marker.

Hi everyone,

I do not understand how I can convert the following coordinates:

latitude: 52° 50’ 30” North,
longitude: 67° 17’ West

I know geocoding helps one convert an address, but how can I go about
converting geographical coordinates to pin point and center my
embedded Google map to the mentioned latitude/longitude above?!

I need to override event handler for standard control
GSmallZoomControl. I want it to zoomIn and zoomOut for 2 values, not
for 1. Example:

1. current zoom level = 1
2. zoomIn
3. current zoom level = 3

1. current zoom level = 7
2. zoomOut
3. current zoom level = 5

I’m now working with the web management system of a taxi company.
The company want to swap from their old mapping system to the current
Gmap. Everything alright so far but now I’ve got a problem here.
For instance the company have many cars, and each car have ID, latest

Hello,

Theo van Leur is a compagney I work for. where experimenting with
google earth for the first time. 3 weeks ago I posted a model for
scatchup to 3D warehouse where they should check and upload the model
to Google earth. Still the model isn't there, so I uploaded the model
again?!

I have a script where I am using the GEvent.addListener(map, 'click',

After changes from version 2.116 the polyline is not drawing anymore.

I wonder how the map loading message can be shown while map is getting
loaded. I have done a map to show a message by placing an image on the
background of the div where the map is loading, and it is working good
for me. But I want to modify my map a bit, so that it could look like
map not loading

Really simple example - creating marker when clicking on a map.

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with the getVertexCount() function.

I create a new polyline, then click on a link to add 10 vertex to it
(using insertVertex() function), after adding the vertices I print on
screen the current number of vertex of the polyline using
getVertexCount(): I get 0. But the polyline has 10 vertices for sure!
Working geocode code now always returns 620 error

If maps.google.com returns the proper location for:

1990 County Road 610, Enterprise, AL 36330

But the http google geocoder api puts me in another county, what use
is the http geocoder. I don't understand why the two seach engins are
different.

Is there a way which will allow me to find out the start and end point
of a street? If so, can it be bounded by a suburb? For example, as an
end-user, I want to be able to highlight 'station street' in the
'boxhill' suburb. I need google to work out where the start and end

I am receiving Key Error message on he client.
I have requested key for "[link]" and loaded it on my
server.
I have also added alert(window.location.host) and it correctly
displays "jcsc.homeip.net".

This application runs properly when I test it on my development
laptop.

I may be asking a question whilst still investigating, but just need a
pointer ...
What I need is distance imaginary circle within the bounds, from a central
Lat Lng position.
I should then be able to base the map circumference based on the map level?
Any obvious answers?!
