Is there a way to change the way the default map looks like? All I
want for the map is just an outline of the states, no names, no
markings for cities.

The Flash API has its own forum. I suggest posting your question
there, this forum is for the Javascript API...

You can find the Flash forum by going to the Flash API documentation
and clicking on the appropriate tab.
Change location dynamically

Hi,

I am new to Google maps and currently working a enhancement to our
existing Google map functionality.

Current functionality
By default we show the location of logged in user based on their
address.

Required enhancement
User should be able to change the address to see their new location on
Removing last drawn point.

I'm using polygon.enableDrawing(); on a map applet which works well.
I've been requested to add a button to undo the last point drawn.

My attempt:

function deleteLast() {

What do you do with bad geocoding?

People don't always type in the right thing for their address. On
Google it will return "did you mean..."

I am using the geocoding in my class to get lat and lon and putting
that in a database for the one time geocoding. But there are times
when the user types in a bad address and therefore nothing is inserted

I've been looking around to no avail to find an answer to my quandary.
For some reason, the links displayed in the info windows on my map are
opening in new windows/tabs. I would like them to target the existing
window ("_top" or "_blank"). FWIW, I'v tried a few different methods
(setting target="_top" on the links, base target, etc.) I see that

Hi,
is it possible to use the start and end marker icons from google maps
routing in your own maps? (The ones with the play and stop icon on
it.) If so, whats the url of these two icons? I can't find them in the
docs, just the lettered icons.

Hi

Is that possible for me add a custom map in Google API? My query is
can i integrate a custom map that i have as Jpeg in the google map
area and manipulate as normal map. For eg: I have one map which is not
a part of google like Factory Map and plot points at different
location?. Is this possible using googlemap api.

Unfortunately the only way we can show the “street view” map is to
place it below our current map. Is there a way for us to just add a

I am trying to correct a display error that seems to only occur in
Firefox. When you click on a marker in the map the information bubble
comes up but is partly covered by the div that I put the content in.
When I close the bubble and click on the marker again it loads
normally.

functions ? I assume each expects an object but what are the valid
properties for each of the objects ? "color", "weight" & "opacity"
seem like reasonable guesses. What other properties are supported ?

Moving a marker along a group of points

I think my companies account has been disabled. This was caused by a
Jr programmer running a test by geocoding 150000 addresses as quick as
was possible.

How can I tell if this is true?

I also encountered an error when 2.116 was release. On [link]
(API v=2.115) within the info dialog I have an embedded map which
includes a draggable marker. When 2.116 was released the markers and
the rectangle overlay vanished. You can see the 2.116 behavior at

I have heard that there is some GMAP component that I can install in

I have many users in a city but I have not the addresses and the
coordinates refer to the same place.

I don't like the clusterer and infowindow solution because I have

I'd like to have buttons on the side send 'map.setCenter' commands so
I call spin around to different locations based on a side menu. I've

I am trying to automate a system which searches all contractors
addresses, converts them to latitude and longitude, then stores them
back into contractors.xml. This is all done using the update()

HTTP Blocked help!!

dear all,
i had quite a small problem. i was using an HTTP request to geocode an
address if the coordinates are empty and then store them in the
database. last time i checked the request it was not working, when i
run it the script just hang for a long time and through an error that
the resources can not be located, i think the IP is blocked, i do not

i don't know how to solve the issue,

In browsers WITHOUT support for VML or SVG, poly hide/show seems to be
broken. I have found a work around but it is ridiculuously slow.

"map.setZoom(map.getZoom())" will refresh the polys correctly.

I might be getting in over my head . . .

I'm trying to use markermanager for the first time and I'm stuck. I
use the following code to try to manage some data (load one xml file,
then load the other at another zoom level) but all that happens is the
two files are loaded on the map. Zooming doesn't add or remove

I can get my map and directions, but only if the addresses are almost
perfect. I say almost because I couldn't get the data on one because
the destination was missing the directional (NW, SE, etc.), but the
from didn't have the directional and it was working fine.

Not sure what to do here. Thank you for any help.
Custom Icon display - strange behaviour

New York and Delhi - and expect the zoom levels to compare in scale.

I need to show a certain image as the zoom level, for example if zoom
"16" show the image nozuch.png and if I change the zoom to

How to create multiple routes from GDirections

I want to create multiple routes from GDirections. For instance, I
would like the following:

route1:
point a, b, c, a

route 2
point a, d, e, f, a

route 3
point a, g, h, a

and I would like each route to have a different color polyline.

Can someone help me with this.
