Remove overlay and infowindow

Hi -

I'm trying to remove an overlay and an infowindow when the user clicks
on the get directions button and I can't figure out how to do it.

I have created a map that has one point and has an info window with an
image, address, and directions to and from the point. My only problem
is that I want the info window to open automatically without having to
be clicked. I can do that easily without having the directions to and
from options in the window but run into problems when I try to figure

I generate infoWindows which appear when an icon is clicked.
Sometimes I put a small thumbnail photo on the right side of the
window, sometimes just text. When the photo is present, the text
wraps around the photo using tables in the old fashioned HTML way.

Hi,

I just want to make a dropdown box and when I submit it, multiple
markers should appear. In this case I only added two. Can you help?

Bike Paths

I know this has been posted before. But I would like to mention/
suggest it again:

Can google maps add bike paths to its maps?

Eventually we may even have the option to plan a bike route!

P.S. I would be happy to map this out for google on East Bay bike
paths and info.

Hi all,

Sorry for my bad English, I'm doing a school project (a touchscreen
thingy to help people to know more about my school and stuff -- duh)
and I need some help:

This application needs to be run locally without internet access.

1. I'm using my own custom tiles(map of my school) so it doesn't go to
LocalSearch problem with api loader - HELP!

I am using the api loader.
I have these lines to load the maps and search apis:
google.load("maps", "2.x");
google.load("search","1");
The map loads, so the loader is working.

in my init function I have this line to create a new localsearch
object:
localsearch = new google.maps.LocalSearch();

Hi,

I made a little web page wich draw a filled cirecle in a map. But i
would like to do the opposite : to fill the map but the circle.

I don't think it's possible, but ....

One of our hydrogeologists would like to display well-id text with
markers prior to the popup.

Our wells are nearly on top of each other and you can't see them until
you zoom way down..

I am trying to find out if the Google Maps Static API allows for the
saving of image to the server and displayed as a background image to
another application. I have looked all over and I cannot find the
answer. I know doing this with the regular Google Maps API is not
allowed.

Trouble with geocoding

Hello -

I've looked over other posts about geocoding and am still not sure how
to proceed. I have 3 sets of data about 30 points long, but all I
have are addresses. These are all Colorado addresses. I've tried full
addresses and even simple City, State, USA combos like the maps.
google.com returns and I can't get the API to return up to a 3rd of

I found the contains tutorial on Mike Williams site [http:]

writeup he indicated that you could optimize the process better to
speed it up. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how this

Static Maps, Long Image SRCs and Mobiles

I have been using the Static Maps API to develop an web application to
be viewed on mobile phones.

now i am searching as wild for an example of this two problems:

- how to detect a mouseout of the extinfowindow to close it without a

Hi all.

I've built a couple pages with the Google Maps API; the pages have a
form that calls a javascript function that maps 2 points and draws a
path in between them. The problem I am having with my pages is that a
lot of calls, like getlatlng or gdirections, time out. They time out
more often than not. And, the problem with the rest of the code is
Google Map, gray area - not whole map loads

on localhost when opening a new browser tab - after clicking the
location to see the map on the site - and going back to the map page,
the rest of the map loads, but not on the live sites as above

We are trying to implement Google Map API code to plot different
address locations on a map based on search/mapping with database
stored values.
There is a requirement to show start and destination addresses of
matching profiles with a dotted line or so. Many such search results
may be returned from the database.

In the sidebar, clicking the hospital name displays the patients which
attend that hospital. I was wondering if any one could help me to
include check boxes at the side of the names in the sidebar so the
user can take away patients which are present on the map, instead of

Background:
This is a project where a gps device transmits its location via cell
towers to my webserver every 30 seconds ~ 1 minute, each coordinate is
stored in a mysql database. Any duplicate entires (ie the device
didn't move) are not added, they simply increment the "count" column
of that point (drastically reducing overhead and clutter).
Possible to use address, instead of long/lat?

Hi,

is it possible to get an optimized zoomed of an maps which i include
via iframe.

I know i can set the zoom-parameter by my own. But in this case the
map isn't centered any more.

The URL which i will load was entered by my users. So i must be able
to zoom and center dynamically.

Can google maps resolve this request or shoul i look for an other

map.clearOverlays() takes one parameter instead of none
The expected parameter seems to be some type of Object that

I am explaining my problem in detail,

1) i have 3 users from Adak city and having same
logitude and lattitude. now i want to show all these 3 users on
google
map.

but map is showing only 1 pin istead of 3 pins.

i know might be they are overlaaping each other.

Folks,

Perhaps not exclusively a google maps question, but here goes. I'm
converting shapefiles (of adjacent geographic boundaries) to gmap
polygons built from encoded polylines. Things work fine, but I think
I'm encoding double the points I need be--that is, I'm separately
encoding the common border between region A and region B twice--once
zip code distance calculator glitch

Okay.
Situation.
Primary html page marks on map 54 pre generated points via xml file.
User enters in zip code and new point is rendered.
This is were things stop working correctly.
Below on sub php attached to main html you re-enter your zip code
along with nearest of 54 points and click submit. System accesses sql

I'm writing a GUI for routing software, and I have a page which is
used to display the route within the software using a web browser
control. The page works fine in FF2 at least - sort of; why isn't
GDirections drawing the directions into my "directions" div (this is a
secondary question)?
maxContent plus symbol label

Hi folks,
is it against the TOC for Google Maps (and VE?) to have a toggle
on the webpage that shows google maps StreetView or Virtual Earth's
Birds eye?

What about having both of them displayed at the same time?

I'm not changing or mashing anything up OVER the StreetView or Bird's

It seems like it would be relatively simple to write javascript to
automatically open a series of markers in a preset order with a two or
three second delay in between to create a sort of tour.

I don't know any javascript but I was thinking about trying to copy
