GPolygon running very slow in IE; great in FF/Opera/Safari

I just created a Google Map app that utilizes GPolygon to create
polygon overlays representing buildings on my university campus. Each
building polygon is a simple rectangle. I am not actually rendering
these polygons (I'm using a zero fill and zero outline width) but
rather using them for onclick events. For example, if a user clicks
Street Views turn into night views?

Moving maker along a Polyline error

Hello, im using the EPOLY extension to move a Marker along a GPolyline
using the function .GetPointatDistance(mts); but its not working, the
idea is to create an animation of a marker moving along a route, and
the route is the GPolyline. me code is here

Dear all,

I have a map that I'd like to fill the containing div wall to wall. FF
and Safari have no trouble understanding:

but in IE I've had to do this or else IE takes it out to the edge of
the window instead of to the edge of the containing div:

in the head section of the html page and other times it is written in
the body.

Can someone shed some light as to why it wouldn't all be in the body
or what difference it makes?

Hi - I have a polyline that I have constructed as an overlay to a
map. I am using this polyline to display a route, with a marker at its
head.

If I want to backtrack, I used the following line of code:

on generating the SQL string to include the query string variables.

Google Geocoder Problem

I'm having a weird problem with the google maps API and I think its
the Geocoder. I am using ajax to turn a list of addresses from a
MySQL database into markers on a map. Once i execute the code, only
half of the addresses from the database show up on my map, and after

When i enableEditing of a polyline, it will be nice if i could pass an
argument to not show the ghost points, because some times, when there
are some points of the poly there are too close and i want to move
them, the ghost points only confuse the editing.

geocoding cannot display address

On one of our servers which has a unique google api geocoding to get
the lng lat of by address works fine, on the other no matter what
address you put in it does not work. Is it possible that the API
associated with the not working URL is defective somewhow ?

Marker inside Polygon

Am retrieving polygons and markers from database using php. Now, i
need to check every individual markeris inside which polygon, and
store that polygon name in another column in sql.

Am using the 'contains' property to check every marker. Problem is
that i have more than 100 markers, so the machine sort of hangs up.

floor in it (it fails both from maps.google.com, and from an http call
to the server via the API)

Copyright problem on Custom Overlays

I have problems on CopyRight text on custom overlays. I have searched
but I didn't find an exact solution.

getting increased. Now I have to have a call to database to get the

I customized and saved my places and than saved As a .kml file. When I
double click the .kml file all of the custom icons and pictures show
up.
When I reference the ,kml file in my GM api, all I get are the blue

I'm working on implementing a map into a new site. However, the site
CSS is apparently overriding the map CSS, causing the background
behind the controls to appear a dark gray (the background of the
site), when there is a openInfoWindowHtml control, what should be the
shadow appears as all dark gray, and the copyright notice at the

I have latitude/longitude pairs from the google geocoder and then
later was trying to get directions with GDirections. But these fail
with GDirections Error 604, Unknown Directions.

Yet when I go to google maps and put these in by hand, they work fine:

Anyone know if time zone offset will be coming in the Google Maps API
in an upcoming release? It would be a wonderful addition. Currently
I am using Google to get lat. and long. and send it off to
earthtools.org and/or geonames.org...but both sites are tough to get
the current time zone offset (since you don't know if the area is on

Has anyone tried to get the multitouch events to work with in Safari
on the iPhone or iPod Touch? What I'd like to see is for the maps to
be zoomable and pannable in the Safari browser similar to the way it
working with the standard Maps application on the iPhone.

Hi All,

We want to display pushpins on all cities of a state.

For Ex: If i click the OR state on the google map then we have to
display all cities of OR state with markers.

Could you please give me an idea how to do this?

How to use javascript links in an info window from a GGeoXml kml overlay?

I noticed that when you have html in a description tag of a placemark
in a kml file that a <a href="javascript:myFunction()" >The Function</
a> will drop the link around the text and only display the text with
no link.

I would like to have javascript links that control the contents within
the infowindow. How would you go around getting this to work?
Can i set the Height & Width of a Maximized InfoWindow?

hello, I'm drawing locations from a spreadsheet. It's working fine in
all browsers except IE6.

IE6 pans and zooms to the proper area, but locations aren't rendered.
I don't receive any errors.

The example linked below queries by state. There are about 70 points
in NY. The spreadsheet has about 1000 entries total.

Currently im doing a mashup which includes the google maps api. What i
want to do is a simple mashup which contains the map and a dropdown
list. when the user select a country from the dropdown list, the map
goes on the selected country.

adding a route to a map from google earth

hi,

i have a client who wants a working google map on his website... he
wants to overlay a route he creates in google earth and show the
topographical view for the area...

could someone point me in the direction for how to set this up... can
this be done with the API or would i need to use the maplets? how is
Marker overlay trouble

Hello, I'm having trouble with the functionality of my Google map.
The map has a marker Overlay when the page loads but the location can
be updated by site users by clicking an 'Edit' link below the map.

The user then gets instructed to right-click the map to add a new
marker.

If you keep right-clicking the map the previous marker they added will
