The study was really about the feasibility of using cell phones to track teen girls to look at the impact of environment on health behaviors. I feel sure the researchers knew that cell phones could do tracking, with known limitations.
The results of a study by researchers from Indiana University School of Medicine, published in the April issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health, show that indeed girls 14- to 16-year-old girls will carry the phones. The pilot also showed one interested and unexpected thing: they were spending more time away from home, school and surrounding areas than anticipated.
